Kate Rice, Executive Editor of Travel Pulse, says there are a lot of opportunities out there for agents and the first place to start is selling air to clients.
“All those fees are really confusing. It is pretty easy to arrive at the airport with two bags and discover you have to drop an extra $40 – $15 for the first bag and $25 for the second – or pay an extra $10 to check a bag because the bag check wasn’t booked in advance.”
Additionally, Kate says, if you’re a smart travel agent, there are a lot of tools out there at your disposal.
“In 2009 Sabre is rolling out its Attribute Based Shopping, which will essentially let you easily compare travel options and what they cost – and Sabre isn’t alone in this: other GDSs are rolling out tools with similar capabilities.”
